This Rich Spirulina and Tahini paste does exactly that!
It’s All About the Ingredients
If you’re visiting this blog you probably already know all about Spirulina. Tahini on the other hand is an amazing substance that never got the fame that it deserves. It goes perfectly well with Spirulina and it’s packed with nutrients. So here are a few words about Tahini:
Tahini is a vegan butter made of nothing but raw sesame seeds. It has a rich & creamy texture which makes it a perfect thickening agent for smoothies, puddings and cakes. It is also used to make Hummus- both are very popular in the Mediterranean cuisine.
Because it’s so rich in Calcium and Iron, Tahini makes a great milk substitute for vegans, as well as people who are lactose intolerant. It can also assist the rehabilitation of broken bones and teeth, god forbid.
Apart from being both delicious and nutritious, Tahini paste is so easy to make it has become a staple at many vegan homes, mine included!
One thing you need to know about this recipe is it can be quite heavy on your stomach, especially if you’re not used to consuming spirulina. So eat slowly and enjoy every bite. Now here comes the actual recipe.
